About I love to create moving images. And I shoot people. Happily. For a long time that made me a photographer. Then the Camera Gods decided that squeezing really big sensors into pretty darn small video cameras was a good idea. And I agreed. Vigorously. Suddenly video became beautiful. It looked, well... photographic! So Ewan PhotoVideo was born. I'm 15 years into this wonderful/crazy career and have never felt as excited about the creative possibilities ahead as I do right now . The portfolios show you where I've been. Hopefully we can work together on what's next... For more insight on What Ewan's All About, check me out on instagram (@ewannicholson) or take a peek at my blog. Random Facts I am from Edinburgh, which makes me Scottish and also British. Seriously. I have a First Class Honours Degree in Applied Physics. I was an expatriate petroleum engineer and change consultant for Shell International for 9 years. Living in Holland was way more fun than I expected it to be. I love marrying Canadian women. It's one of my favourite things to do. Talking of favourites, I love stills and video equally. The whole moving pictures concept just rocks my world. Environmental portraiture is my first love. What excites me so much now about this new era of cinematic video is the opportunity to bring those portraits to life. I have been building and crashing drones since way before it became cool or the skies became crowded. I actually have a Transport Canada recognised qualification to fly my drones although the rules of the air make actually flying them surprisingly tricky.
